A Message from Our Principal

Welcome to Woodburn Primary School. We’ve tried to cover all areas of our school life in this website and give you insight into the values and principles that provide the basis for all the teaching and learning that takes place here.

Woodburn Primary School is a Rights Respecting School having been awarded Unicef’s RRSA Level 2, where the articles of UNCRC (United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child) guide and lead both policy and practice. Our beliefs are encompassed in the school mission statement ‘Everyone at Woodburn Primary School will be valued and visible and encouraged to reach their full potential.’

The welfare and education of our children are paramount and we aim to provide a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe and nurtured enabling them to gain the most benefit from their primary school years whilst preparing them for the next levels of education and beyond. We strive to provide the best support we can, working alongside parents, for those children with special educational needs.

The best way to find out about us is to come along and see for yourself! We have an Open Day in December which is advertised in the local press but visits can be arranged by telephoning the school.

Many thanks,

Mrs A Rea
